The TUC wanted an Audio Visual Trail in Tolpuddle to help guide visitors around the historic village where the heroic story of the Tolpuddle Martyrs is told.
In May 2013 H&L assisted the TUC in developing an Our Heritage application to HLF. In October 2013 a grant award of £38,700 was confirmed with match funding from West Dorset District Council, Dorset County Council and Puddletown Area Parish Council. Heritage & Leisure were appointed to assist the TUC in delivering the project working with ATS Heritage to provide the multimedia trail.
In March 2015 the new Tolpuddle Martyrs’ Trail app was launched. Now available on the website for free this great resource is narrated by renowned actress Maxine Peake and features reconstruction filming, old images, children’s activities and Pathe news film.
