Culture and Sport

My work has revolved around sport, heritage and culture over the last 30+ years. From teaching windsurfing in the late 80’s and 90’s to managing sports centres and entering the fascinating world of Britain’s canals for 3½ years, including the opportunity to set up the Crick Boat Show. Since moving to Dorset in 2002 through my work I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to be involved in play projects, arts and performance (particularly through Artsreach), museums, heritage restoration and engagement, and sports provision. With increasing mobility loss so personally continuing some sports becomes more difficult however new opportunities always arise for new ways to explore, participate and create.

Inspired by meeting my friend Karen Hansen and attending one of her courses I’ve tried my hand at letter carving in wood and have even had a couple of commissions.
